Josh Domingues is the Founder & CEO of Flashfood, a mobile marketplace that strives to eliminate retail food waste by connecting communities with discounted food nearing its best-by date, while earning grocery operators greater profits.

Josh founded Flashfood in 2016 after reading about the environmental effects of food waste. Determined to make a difference, Josh oftens cites that if international food waste were a country, it would be the third leading cause of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions behind the US and China. Josh leads corporate strategy for Flashfood, which has diverted more than 45 million pounds of food from landfills and has made groceries more affordable for more than 290,000 families. 

Flashfood is available in over 1,400 stores across Canada and the US and counts The GIANT Company, Meijer, Tops Friendly Markets, Giant Eagle, Stop & Shop, Hy-Vee, SpartanNash and Loblaw Companies Limited among its partners.

Josh honed his leadership skills early as a professional hockey player and team captain in the Ontario Hockey League. After earning a Bachelor of Commerce Cum Laude (Finance and Management Science) from Saint Mary’s University, Josh worked as an investment advisor before becoming a management consultant and VP at a boutique firm.
